MORE POWER OVER THE DEVIL!
The Gift of “Discerning of Spirits”
The Spiritual realm exists and is made up of God, and a whole and complete realm of Spiritual existence, with God being ruler over everything Natural and Spiritual. God has given us a special ability to discern and judge the spiritual things revealed by Him, through our Spirits. By The Gift of Discerning of Spirits, which generally comes as a Gift of The Holy Spirit. This is a valuable aid from The Holy Spirit allowing us the Spiritual ability to tell whether something is of the flesh (that is human motivation) of The Holy Spirit, or of demonic spiritual influence. It is mentioned in the Word of God in 1 Corinthians 12:10, “To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy; to another discerning of Spirits”…The Greek word for discern here is “diakrisis” which according to Vine Expository Dictionary (171) means “a distinguishing, a clear discrimination, discerning, judging… Of Spirits, judging by evidence whether they are evil from satan, or good from God.
The Gift of Discerning of Spirits is given by the Holy Spirit as a result of having received the Baptism in The Holy Spirit. There are basically two kinds of “Baptisms” of the Holy Spirit. The Baptism by the Spirit you receive when you are saved; you are baptized into the Body of Christ. “For you were baptized by one Spirit into one Body: This is the Spirit Baptism that makes us “one”. As a result, the Holy Spirit indwells us and we have this seal of redemption. Then there is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, where the Holy Spirit comes upon you and fills you with power. (Acts 1:8)
The gifts of the Spirit become available to you. In 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 there are several “gifts”. The gift of Discerning of Spirits is one of these gifts. This gift often manifests or reveals itself in many Spiritual variations and is given to the Spirit-filled believer to help them distinguish spiritual good from spiritual evil, and spiritual truth from spiritual falsehood that is operating from within the spiritual realm. This gift comes as an inner knowing. The Holy Spirit witnesses to your spirit man (inner-man) and in your mind. You get spiritual understanding. However this is not the only inner-man understanding that you receive.
It also comes through Spiritually Hearing, which allows you the spiritual ability to hear things beyond the range of the normal perception of our physical ears. Such as conversations, hearing the music of the angels, hearing inner profound messages and words from the Holy Spirit.
It also comes through Spiritually Feelings; possessing the gifting from God of being able to feel with an inner spiritual, sensing, inspired feelings from the Holy Spirit.
Spiritually Sensing is having the ability from God to feel, sense and know the Physical, Mental, and Emotional, sensations of another person having the spiritual ability to feel the attitudes and inner dispositions of the spirits of those people that are around you, both good and bad.
Spiritually Knowing is knowing without having a logical reason because the knowing is from the Holy Spirit to our spirit, with a clarity, including meaning and information. Spiritually smelling; having the spiritual ability to clearly through the Holy Spirit smell odors and fragrances that are within our immediate surrounding. Such as the smelling of the fragrance of roses when the presence of Jesus is there. This gift many times works along with the ability to taste without putting anything in our mouths.
Not enough is taught about this gift, this spiritual gifting seems to flow through my ministry along with the “seer” Gift with a special anointing for Exorcism and Deliverance Miracles. Through this gifting, the Holy Spirit will allow you to discern the very desires of the hearts of men and women, so that you can be used as the vessel of God to bless them, In The Name of Jesus.
The Gift of Discerning manifests or reveals itself in the form of Visions and Dreams as well. An individual may see an image or a picture normally with their eyes closed but sometimes even with their eyes wide open. What is seen is not Physical but Spiritual in nature, seeing, beyond what the physical eyes can see; visionary ability to see within the Spiritual realm or the Heavenly realm.
The God given gift with the ability to see straight into the Spiritual realm or the Heavenly realm. The God given gift with the ability to see worldly beings, lights, shapes and colors. God does not let us see like this all the time, but the thing that we have to remember is that the Spiritual or Heavenly realm is always in operation, parallel to the physical realm, all the time.
There are examples of people reaching out or seeing things within the Spiritual realm, understanding the meanings of messages, and having the ability to receive Heavenly messages. One may perceive visions, sometimes as if you are right there, within the midst of what is going on, or at other times looking at things being enacted out in front of you, as if you are watching television, at a play or attending a movie. True ministries of the Holy Spirit flow in all the gifts. The Spiritual Gifting through the Gift of Discerning of Spirits, as recorded in Acts, Chapters 6 and 7 was given to Stephen enabling him to see into the Heavenly realm.
As the early church increased in size, so did its needs. One great need that arose was to organize the distribution of food for the poor. The apostles needed to focus on preaching so they choose others to administer the food. This administrative task was not taken lightly. The requirements for the men who were to handle the food program were, that they were to have an honest report; be full of the Holy Ghost and Wisdom. One of the men that they chose was a man named Stephen and The Word of God says that He was a man full of faith and power. Stephen did great wonders and miracles among the people. The word of God says that the people were not able to resist the wisdom and Spirit by which he spoke.
A group of Jewish slaves who had been freed by Rome and had formed their own synagogue lied about Stephen, thus causing Stephen to be arrested and brought before the Sadducees. When Stephen was brought before the Sanhedrin council, the accusation against him was the same accusation that the religious leaders had used against Jesus. The group falsely accused Stephen of wanting to change Moses customs, because Sadducees who controlled the council believed only in Moses laws. Stephen launched into a long speech about Israel’s relationship with God. Stephen didn’t really defend himself instead he took offensive seizing the opportunity to summarize his teachings about Jesus.
Those people became so angry that they charged Stephen. In Chapter 7:55 it says, but he (Stephen) being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Stephen had the heavenly or spiritual realm opened for him to see into by God.And the Word of God said that Stephen was full of faith, and He Saw.
